Schlage’s Encode Plus Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt lock is now available to buy. First announced at CES 2022, the gadget enables you to securely connect to and remotely control your smart lock when you’re not home.

The smart lock is compatible with Apple HomeKit and Apple home keys, so you can unlock your door using your iPhone or Apple Watch. You can also set the unlocking of the door to trigger other connected smart home devices.

Android users can use the Schlage Home app instead. Plus, the device has a pin pad for visitors. Alternatively, you can control the device using voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant or by using the touchscreen.

You can have up to 100 access codes live on the gadget at any time, and you can control multiple smart locks through the app. Other smart features include the ability to view the lock’s use history and set custom alerts for door movement or forced entry attempts. Also, the door can automatically lock behind you, with the option to set time delays on this feature.

The device has up to 12 months of life from four AA batteries. A low-battery warning on the touchscreen and an in-app notification will ensure you don’t forget to change them. In case the batteries fail, Schlage provides a physical backup key.
