The popularity of WoTLK Classic Gold WoW's subscriptions reached their peak during Wrath of the Lich King back in 2009. So it's not a surprise that Blizzard will want to bring back the popular expansion following the success of re-releases of the Original version WoW in 2019 as well as its first expansion, The Burning Crusade, in 2021. In light of Burning Crusade Classic currently nearing the close of its content cycle and the new Dragonflight expansion expected to not be released until 2023 and 2023. the idea of having Wrath of the Lich King Classic come out later this year to fill that gap makes perfect sense. As is the case with WoW Classic and Burning Crusade Classic, Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be included in WoW's existing subscription at no additional cost.

Wrath of the Lich King introduced a variety of aspects and events to Blizzard's MMORPG which would later go to become iconic components of the game, including regions like Northrend and its most-loved Grizzly Hills zone, the final fight with Arthas high up in the Icecrown Citadel, in-game achievements such as the profession of inscription, it's the Death Knight hero class, and much more. Although the initial release of Wrath of the Lich King required players to be a level 55 player on their account before being in a position to create Death Knights, the game's new release will not buy WoTLK Gold require that. Death Knight, players jumping into WoW Classic for the first time don't need to be able to create an account with a Death Knight on day one.
