Rent skippers, according to a landlord in Seattle, are more common than ever.

Landlord Carl Haglund of Seattle claims that the restrictions imposed during the pandemic have led to an increase in rent skippers. Haglund contends that the recently passed city ordinance makes it more difficult and expensive to evict the renters in compliance with this COVID limitation. Haglund mentioned the situation of a specific tenant—KING 5 will remove the tenant's name—who allegedly hasn't cleaned up after his animals in months. Haglund asserts that the tenant has also been paying rent late. At least 10% of the landlord's many tenants are allegedly behind on their rent.
