A new (old) anabolic steroid has recently become popular in the fitness industry. According to reports, people have gained 20 pounds in just 6 weeks.

Bodybuilders use their crude chemical language to refer to it as a mixture of "trenn and test", which can be said to be the two most effective and beloved steroids of all time by fans.

So, what is this magical compound? It is known as MENT or trestolone and has been widely used due to research on chemical suppliers.

The Rise of ENT - Trestrom

MENT (7 α - Methyl-19 de testosterone or trisolone is one of several derivatives of 19-de testosterone, and due to its unique chemical properties, it has been studied as a possible male contraceptive therapy. Initially, pharmaceutical companies combined progesterone with testosterone to produce a viable male contraceptive option, as progesterone had the ability to inhibit spermatogenesis.

Although testosterone can reduce sperm production, the limited contraceptive dose tested is too high to avoid unnecessary side effects.

Testosterone can also be converted into dihydrotestosterone through 5- reductase, which has harmful effects on the prostate and can also increase male type baldness. Due to its inability to bind to 5-reductase, it cannot be converted into dihydrotestosterone, making it a perfect candidate for androgen male contraceptive pills.

The reason for this is the unique - methyl group on molecule 7 carbon. This methyl group protrudes below the steroid ring structure and spatially inhibits the conversion to dihydrotestosterone. However, MENT can still perform aromatization and other androgen dependent functions, enabling it to effectively exert the role of testosterone in the body, despite being a derivative of 19-nortestosterone.

Trestolone acetate has also been shown to have the least affinity for progesterone and mineralocorticoid receptors, although it is a Norone derivative.

7 of MENT α - Another unique characteristic of methyl is that it can also inhibit the binding of MENT to sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), a protein that binds to androgens (and estrogen), causing them to no longer bind to androgen receptors. If you have ever checked your testosterone levels, you will see two values: total testosterone and free testosterone.
