To get Java to work, you have to enable the Chrome Java extension in the browser through the Java Control Panel. Type Java Control Panel into the 'Search' field and click the Java icon to open it in the 'Search Control' panel. In the Java Control Panel, click the 'Security' tab. At the top of the 'Security' tab, check the 'Enable Java content' in the browser box to enable Java in Chrome.
