On the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, new features in NBA 2K22's MyNBA mode have been revealed. The new features, which were detailed in a blog post, include the MyStaff system, a more in-depth training system, and three new pre-built teams to be introduced into the League.

With the MyStaff system, players can customize their entire front office staff, with four departments and a maximum of 17 staff members. The MyStaff system is the most significant addition to the MyNBA mode. Each of the four departments that need to be staffed has a unique set of skills that can benefit the team. These are the Front Office, Coaching, Scouting, and Sports Medicine departments.

People can have a variety of characteristics, such as charisma and money sense, which will make them more suitable for different jobs in different industries. Personnel members can be moved freely between jobs at any time, depending on which attributes are more important to the team at the time or how their attributes develop over time. Each job has a distinct benefit, so players will need to be picky about which positions they fill in order to maximize their potential. To give an example, the Sleep Doctor assists the team in managing their wellness, which allows for better fatigue management as the season progresses.

Other modifications made to the MyNBA mode include the addition of the Prep Hub, which alters the way in which players prepare for matches. Everything related to training, fatigue, and your next opponent is conveniently gathered in one place by the Prep Hub. The team proficiency rating is also displayed in the menu, which indicates how well the Head Coach's playstyle meshes with the team and the rest of the coaching staff. Team training schedules as well as individual player training are available to players through the Prep Hub. In accordance with the Head Coach's instructions, players will be able to customize their training to keep fatigue to a minimum throughout the season. In order to use the MyStaff system and the Prep Hub, you must have a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S console.

Also included in NBA 2K22 are three new pre-built teams, including:
The Bronx Brawlers, the Honolulu Breeze, and the Omaha Airmen are three of the most popular minor league baseball teams in the country.

Logos, uniforms, and arenas are included for each of the three teams, allowing players to incorporate them into their MyNBA league from the beginning or as expansion teams later on.
