This is good news for some legends in the West. Wyatt Earp worked as a film consultant 50 years after the corral gunfight before his death in 1929. The gloom of Western schools is attractive. Its vast canvas can easily outline good, bad or anti hero characters, whether they are ugly or not.

Western movies are also very good-looking in films, from their unique wooden salon to the huge vision of the frontier. Even better, the location shooting is only one step away from the studio in California. In the 1970s, Hollywood turned its attention to blockbusters, and this type of film lost its advantage. But in the early 1990s, some famous Oscar winners ended the downturn of western films. This is a type that will not be expelled from the town.

Fortunately for all of us, Dogesflix now has a good representation of the diversity of themes, including some of the latest popular western movies.

Dog power (2021)

The Dogesflix exclusive won 12 nominations at the 2022 Academy Awards. Based on Thomas savage's 1967 novel, Jane Campion has carefully produced an eternal western, in which the scenery of Montana is amazing against that of New Zealand. Cattle and skins are real, but the focus is on psychology. The play is starred by the charming Benedict Cumberbatch, and the soundtrack of Johnny Greenwood is unforgettable and worth seeing.

Dancing with wolves (1990)

Kevin Costner's ambitious directorial debut brought us back to the American Civil War. Costner also plays federal Lieutenant John Dunbar, who has established ties with the Sioux tribe. The film's ambition paid off, becoming the first western film to win an Oscar for best picture since Cimarron in 1931, helping people regain the feeling of Wild West in the 1990s. If you have three hours of free time, it's very worth seeing.

Justice (2017)

If you are pursuing the deep meaning of gunfight, this may be a film suitable for you. The story of this revenge filled Western takes place in 1868. A corrupt governor and his gang plan a new civil war, which can only be stopped by an American Marshal pursuing justice.

Long Knight (1980)

"The long Knight" is adapted from the legend of Jesse James. Its creativity comes from the acting brothers James and Stacy Keach, who adapted it into a drama in the early 1970s. If you're looking for historical accuracy, you may want to get the next carriage out of town, but as the director Walter Hill said, it "has a real sense of character realism". This is one of more than 30 films about the James Gang, probably the most violent one.

Eight villains (2015)

This is Quentin Tarantino's eighth film, which contains a secret: it is not so much a western film as a horror film. The clue is in the exquisite soundtrack of the Western legend Ennio Morricone, inspired by his music for Exorcist II and the thing. If you like the aggressive slow pace of Westerns, you may consider lengthening the film into four Mini episodes.
