The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has announced today that the all-purpose Vaccinated travel lanes (VTL) – which connect the capitals of countries to Singapore – would be expanded to include six additional nations. Cambodia, Fiji, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Turkey are among the six countries on the list.

According to the CAAS, "Travelers from Thailand will be able to enter Singapore under the VTL beginning on December 14, 2021."

Those traveling from Cambodia, Fiji, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Turkey will be able to enter Singapore under the VTL starting on December 16, 2021.

In accordance with the VTL, fully vaccinated travelers from VTL nations may enter Singapore without being subjected to quarantine and just need to driving directions undertake COVID-19 testing." The VTL quota will be increased from 10,000 to 15,000 passengers per day as a result of this most recent expansion."

Before COVID, Singaporeans flocked to places like Cambodia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, which were all famous tourist destinations. These nations have opened their borders to all travelers who have been vaccinated, allowing them to travel without going through quarantine. In the most recent development, Thailand said that it will reopen its borders to vaccinated travelers from more than 60 nations and areas beginning on November 1, 2021, including Singapore. Cambodia, in a similar vein, will reopen its borders to all vaccinated travelers on November 15, 2021."

Turkish authorities have previously opened the country to vaccinated travelers from Singapore, allowing them to travel without going through quarantine." The expansion of VTL to Turkey will allow us to establish a connection with yet another significant international aviation center."

The new step will bring the overall number of VTL nations up to 27 from the current level of 21.

Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States are among the countries that have operational VTLs as of this writing.

Finland, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sweden will be among the countries represented in the VTLs as of November 29.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates will be included in the VTLs as of the 6th of December.

Thailand will be included in the VTLs as of the 14th of December.

From the 15th of December, the VTLs will cover Cambodia, Fiji, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Turkey, among other countries.
