Week 1provides an unusual canvas for NFL DFS owners to deal with: Prices are set earlier than they ever are throughout the rest of the season. That means, whether playing on Draftkings, FanDuel or as this article will addre s, Yahoo, you're dealing with certain players who are obvious chalk plays. When putting together a GPP lineup in hopes of winning a daily fantasy football tournament, those chalky plays can be tempting, but they're also worth avoiding to have enough differentiation in your lineup from the most common ones.

Seven of the nine players in this week's Yahoo GPP lineup come from three games. Even on a Seth Roberts Jersey main slate as big as the 13 games on Sunday, that can often prove the best strategy to finding the most points. The other thing you'll notice as you read the lineup analysis below is that plenty of money remained on the board for the FLEX position. If you want to pivot away from my choice there, you'll have lots of options to choose from.

Week 1 DFS Lineups:| | | | |

QB Kirk Cousins, Vikings vs. Falcons ($27).My suspicion is that just as he's been underdrafted in season-long leagues, Cousins will be underowned in Week 1 DFS. The Falcons present a mouth-watering matchup in Cousins' home building to get his season off to a flying start. Atlanta allowed the sixth-most pa sing Morgan Cox Jersey yards in football last season, so expect Cousins to sling it around all Sunday long.

RB KerryonJohnson, Lions@Cardinals ($22).I've gone with two running backs from the same game because frankly, I don't expect much defense to be played on either side. Kerryon Johnson's gotten a huge commitment from the Lions' bra s this offseason, between Darrell Bevell coming in to implement a more run-heavy offenseto the release of Theo Iman Marshall Jersey Riddick making Johnson into a more important pa s-catching back. The Lions' best hope to remain in this game against a fast-paced offense is Kerryon.

Week 1 Non-PPR Rankings: | | | | |

RB David Johnson, Cardinals vs. Lions ($23). The Johnson opposing Kerryon, David, is Arizona's best player, yet I'd expect the Week 1 hype of a Kyler Murray coming-out party might keep the Cardinals' running back relatively underowned. Every indication is that Arizona will run a ton of plays, utilize Johnson both on the ground and through the air, and not have any trouble scoring points against the Lions' putrid defense. Johnson is the share of the Cards' offense you want in Week 1.

WR Stefon Diggs, Vikings vs. Falcons ($25). Choosing to stack Diggs with Cousins instead of Thielen came down to a bit of a discount in price for a player I feel has an equivalent shot at a big game. The soft underbelly of Atlanta' Justin Bethel Jersey s defense should pose no problems for the routes Diggs loves to run. Against a Falcons defense that's better against the run than the pa s, Cousins and the Vikings could use Diggs almost as their de facto running game, targeting him early and often on short-to-intermediate routes.

WEEK 1PPR RANKINGS: | |

WR Dede Westbrook, Jaguars vs. Chiefs ($15).Most players won't use someone against the defense they choose, but I feel comfortable with Westbrook because he doesn't strike me as a huge touchdown threat. Rather, when the Jags fall well behind Kansas City's high-powered offense, Nick Foles should force feed Westbrook for any gain Jacksonville gets. With Yahoo's half-point per reception, a 10-catch, 70-yard outing for Westbrook would return good value.

WR Preston Williams, Dolphins vs. Ravens ($10).The buzz around the Dolphins suggests Williams might not start, which I expect will keep his ownership down. But he played every relevant snap with Ryan Fitzpatrick beginning Week 2 of the preseason, so he should be on the field a lot in Week 1 (especially after Kenny Stills was traded). Miami will probably fall behind Baltimore, meaning that the Nick Boyle Jersey gunslinger Fitzpatrick will do plenty of throwing. All it will take is one big play for the talented Williams to be more than worth selecting.

TE Travis Kelce, Chiefs @Jaguars ($27). When Jalen Ramsey shadowed Tyreek Hill last year, Kansas City's No. 1 WR was a non-factor. Ramsey's a signment will be the same Sunday, so Patrick Mahomes will probably look elsewhere for the majority of his pa sing. Kelce had 100 yards against the Jaguars last season, and with the matchups as they are in the secondary, I'd expect him to be a lock to reach triple-digits again.

FLEX Odell Beckham Jr., Browns vs. Titans ($30). You could pivot to almost any player on the board with this amount of money available. I'm having a tough time avoiding Beckhambecause he has exactly the type of mental makeup to want nothing more than to go off in his Cleveland debut. With how Baker Mayfield and OBJ have spoken all offseason, there have surely been a few discu sions of how they'd like to get noticed in Week 1.

D/ST Chiefs @ Jaguars ($17). The Chiefs' secondary should have no problem slowing the short-pa sing game of Nick Foles. That will give Kansas City's front seven the chance to Jaylon Ferguson Jersey pin their ears back and get after Foles all day long. Jacksonville's likelihood of playing catch-up increases KC's chances of getting sacks and interceptions, the quickest way to fantasy points and a winning lineup.
