Madden NFL 23 is set to release worldwide for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on Aug. 19, 2022. But many players want to know what kind of cross-platform and crossplay is on the table this year.
Unfortunately, Madden NFL 23 will not support crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox and PC players. An EA community manager confirmed Madden 23's absence of crossplay on the EA Answers HQ forum. If you hope to play against someone online, they'll need to be playing on the exact same platform as you are.
However, players that purchase the Madden 23 All-Madden Edition have access to dual-entitlement, meaning they can download and play both versions of the game. Unfortunately, the All-Madden Edition costs $99.99 and is the only version that grants dual access.
With EA still pushing players to buy the All Madden Edition which will have either the PS4 PS5 or Xbox One Xbox Series X|S versions, some progress will sync as long as you're using the same account for each.
Everything in Madden Ultimate Team will transfer, including Madden 23 Coins, Points and more, except progress in competitive modes, and all progression in The Yard carries over. The bad news is that Franchise Mode and Face of the Franchise have absolutely zero carry-over for your save files. If you start saves on either on PS4 or Xbox One and later upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, you'll have to start over in those game modes.
In addition, those who pre-order the All Madden Edition, will have early access to the game starting on Aug. 16. These three extra days for Ultimate Team enthusiasts are a great opportunity to get an early upper hand before most players are online.
