Other measures that the developer may be looking at as punishment for RWT activity include wealth removal - essentially the removal of illicit gains from players' accounts on OSRS Gold an server level and possible bans.RuneScape's PvP feature, known as the Duel Arena, will also have more stringent rules enforced. Jagex says the feature "has been a flashpoint for this kind of shady behavior", and that 38 per cent of all bans against RWT activities up to now stem from this element in the game. The company says it has already amounted around "thousands of bans every month".
As a result, the developer seems to be considering the nuclear choice, saying "we're thinking about the long-term for phasing out down the Duel Arena out of RuneScape completely." In the meantime the company will introduce "some small-scale steps" to tidy up PvP "until our team of developers can release an overhaul that completely eliminates Duel Arena next year."
They will also have a limit on the amount of GP (or gold points) the players can wager on an event at the Duel Arena. The players will be able to wager "no greater than fifty million GP for each duel". Other measures haven't been provided as of now.
Jagex says that "a brand new experience that'll make up part of the Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena beginning in 2022, but no further details have been announced yet.
While the full impact of these changes remains to be assessed but they are some of the strongest that any studio has attempted to prevent external abuse of its systems to gain financial gain. If they're successful in their efforts, similar approaches are likely to be implemented across the MMO space in the future.
Jagex is announcing that, after 18 years as the battleground for PvP, Duel Arena will be moving out of RuneScape and a new region can be added. RuneScape is set to release Het's Oasis that will have a brand new scenery, new techniques for OSRS Gold For Sale gaining skills and two brand-new mini-quests that you can play.
