The purpose of this blog post is to share some of the most interesting pieces of technology news with you, so you can feel like you’re an insider at the heart of the action even if you aren’t actually working in technology yourself. From artificial intelligence to virtual reality to machine learning, there are numerous fascinating new developments taking place every day; let’s take a look at some of them now...
New Faster Chips
In January 2016, Intel Corporation announced that it had developed a new type of computer chip in an effort to address the global need for computing power. This new chip architecture is known as Intel Optane and operates at low latency with low persistence. This means that its systems are fast to act, but can be shut down quickly if unused. Intel expects this to significantly reduce power consumption when compared to other chips on the market. Some experts claim that these chips will make future computing devices more powerful, yet more compact and energy efficient than ever before.
Apple’s Rumored iPhone X
New reports about the iPhone X are coming out. So what does this mean for the current design? Apple may be retiring its classic home button or taking a different approach to how users interact with the phone. There will also be wireless charging, built-in infrared face scanning capability, and no headphone jack. Stay tuned for more updates on when it might release and how much it will cost!
Helpful App Updates
iOS 11.2 has been released, with a number of bug fixes. iOS 11.2 will include support for faster wireless charging, as well as a new warning that asks you to rate the app each time you close it. Now iOS 11 can update your apps automatically in the background, instead of waiting for you to open the App Store and manually checking for updates like in previous versions of iOS. In addition, the Reminders app will now have both an hourly reminder setting and a repeat reminder setting (every day).
Facebook Update
Pew Research conducted a survey to assess the level of knowledge people have about computers. Here are the results:
-1 in 10 couldn't correctly identify an app like FaceTime or Whatsapp and 1⁄4 didn't know what an email address is.
-18% have never used an iPhone, 16% are not on Facebook, and 18% don't use the internet ข่าวIT.
These stats could be shocking, but what they show is that we all need to take charge of our online safety by learning more about our devices and how to avoid threats. Computer technology is such a pervasive part of our lives today that it has become necessary for everyone to understand its basics. You don't want one small oversight to lead you into a disaster or turn your loved ones into victims.

Free VPN Offer on Wifi
Getting a good internet connection is crucial for any business to be successful. Unfortunately, many business owners have trouble finding the best service providers in their area. Internet providers often charge for long-distance plans when the distance isn't even that great, and you may find it difficult to get any representatives on the phone from your service provider if you need help with installation or billing issues. Worst of all, some providers will increase rates randomly without notification, which can cost your company thousands of dollars if you're not aware. These are just a few problems with computer technology that we've had lately!
Mobile Security Issues
A recent report by Avast discovered that two of the most popular programs, Facebook and Google Chrome, have major security issues with their mobile versions. A July 2017 review of the Android App Store (GOOGL) found more than 4000 apps that were vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks; this was before the new security requirement for Google Play applications. Among these 40,000 plus apps, there were also tens of thousands of Java SE Mobile Runtime (JSR 168), which is a type of software development kit that allows applications to run on many devices including mobile devices like smartphones. This shows vulnerabilities can be seen in programs being actively used by millions of people across the world every day.
The solution to this problem comes in the form of installing a security patch.
