Critical analysis is a demonstration of your critical-thinking abilities. This skill is necessary for some academic courses, and to work in the academic field as a critic, or in managerial or decision-making positions.
What is critical analysis?
Critical analysis is the careful examination and evaluation of other people's ideas and work. This is subjective writing because it expresses your interpretation of and analysis of the work through breaking down and studying its parts.
For example, you might write a critical assessment to analyze a piece or film, or a business process, or an academic report. Your critical analysis draws on your critical thinking skills and can be written as a paper or essay, but it may also be used as an oral report. A good critical analysis balances ideas and highlights the positive and negative aspects.
This article will discuss critical analysis, how to write a critical analysis essay, and provide writing tips.
