“I would first like to extend my warm congratulations to His Excellency Mr. Xí Jìnpíng, the President of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of his reelection to the post of Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party. I would also like to commend His Excellency’s initiative to launch the International China Import Expo in Shanghai, to which I have the honor to participate today via videoconference in the launch of its fifth edition.
This exhibition now rightly counts as an important international platform for companies to exhibit their products and discover new business and investment opportunities that strengthen development partnerships and invigorate the economy.
We, in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, by our geostrategic position, our numerous and varied natural resources, as well as what we offer as a quality business climate and multiple investment opportunities, have great hopes that this exhibition will allow us to forge fruitful economic partnerships and attract new investments.
The organization of the China International Import Expo in such a special global context is a strong symbol.
Because, as the world is facing the catastrophic consequences of COVID-19, the deterioration of the global security situation due to the Ukrainian crisis, and the disruption of supply chains, as well as the rise in inflation presaging a global economic recession, the China International Import Expo carries a strong message, expressing the People’s Republic of China’s support for free trade, an open economy, and a fairer and better multilateral world order geared toward constructive cooperation.
It is this constructive cooperation that establishes the ties uniting our country to the People’s Republic of China; well-established partnership and fraternity relations based on the principle of reciprocal interest and mutual respect.
While reiterating our position in support of the one-China principle and our eagerness to diversify and deepen the areas of our cooperation with the People’s Republic of China, we express our hope that the 5th China International Import Expo in Shanghai be a resounding success.
