"They aren't on the PTR, there aren't a collection of mods created for it, or any strategies put into WoTLK Gold writing," Dawson said. "People aren't quite sure of what they'll be going through. There's a lot of adventure and exploration ahead at the conclusion of the raid."

To add to the feeling of insanity is the fact that players need to wait another week before they can confront the Jailer. The raid will begin to open at the beginning of March (a week after 9.2's launch on February 22nd) The final three bosses will not be available until March 8. This means that it'll be several weeks until players are able to learn the end of the story as well as the fate of characters such as that of the jailer, and Sylvanas both of the most prominent characters in Shadowlands that have caused discord within the game's communities.

It's a tale that, by and large, isn't received well by a lot of fans. The Jailer, the expansion's main villain, has been retroactively linked to massive swaths of existing World of Warcraft lore dating all the way to World of Warcraft. The whole plan, which has been in place for millennia, is more than complex, prompting fans to joke about him as playing an unsolved board game called 4D Chess that no one else can comprehend.

Sylvanas and her storyline might be seen in a different way. A character that has been a long-time fan favorite, her recent role of murderous war criminal and Jailer's second-in command has left a bad taste in many players' minds. The fact that Sylvanas later betrayed the Jailer in patch 9.1 on what seems like an act of whimsy caused one or two players narrative whiplash. What, all of a sudden, is this character who committed genocide, and has shown no regrets having a change of heart? It's unclear if fans will be given a precise answer to this question, however the head of the quest design team Maria Hamilton said that the story of Sylvanas as well as the overall storyline of Shadowlands is being designed at a high-level. Less important details, however are fleshed out as time goes on.
