What we love about Myglassesmart

The two pairs we got from Myglassesmart - a retro chunky acetate frame and a Traveler-like glasses frame - were of high quality (although the first pair arrived damaged and needed to be replaced - more on that below). The lenses are cut accurately, the frame has an excellent finish, and the fit is pretty much what we'd expect from a given size and virtual fitting tool.

Online stores are in the middle of the pack; A basic, single-lens, non-pigmented, standard coating starts at $74; Progressives for high-index photochromic lenses will end up in the $400 to $500 range, depending on style and detail - at least until the discount. As with many of the stores we saw, you'll want to keep an eye out for special offers, sales, and coupon codes - the savings can be substantial and end up cutting costs by $100 or more.

Myglassesmart also offers a lens replacement service; The company will use frames you already own (with some restrictions) to replace lenses (costs range from $59 to over $300 depending on the prescription type, tone, and coating), and while we didn't test this or similar services (like Lensabl) if you own expensive frames you already love that don't wear out excessively, They are certainly an alternative.

Since we received a corrupted framework, we did need to deal with Myglassesmart's customer support and were impressed with its handling of the situation. Every representative we interacted with was very positive and helpful.
